A bit from today and the last holiday pics

This morning was quite a contrast to the last couple of days, it was drizzling and the wind was quite fresh. It took a while to find any birds, then a couple of COMMON WHITETHROAT (78) appeared in one of the hedges, a CHIFFCHAFF sung but that was the only one this morning, heading back up towards the car amazingly the RING OUZEL reappeared, it was looked for again later but had disappeared. Stephen did have a single House Martin this morning and later Pete had the first Nightingale here of the year so still plenty to see. With poor light this morning I'll revert back to the holiday pics for the last time.

More excellent images here.

I think you may have lost your way Alan, could be making money from your photography.

Fantastic!!! All of them! Congrats on the Nighthawk. That is one tricky bird to find. I cannot wait to head back and see these animals again.

Well done on the Whitethroat Alan. They do seem to have started popping up on logs in the last couple of days especially down your way.

So glad you shared some more of your holiday pics with us. I loved the lizard and the Three-toed Sloth!

magnificent magnificent frigatebird picture....
im popping over to sissinghurst castle next weekend, probably, weather dependant i guess, any advice as to looking for birds in the area, do you just wander round the grounds and footpaths of the grounds or do you go to specific places...or indeed, just pot luck....

Hi Graham, I tend not to go into the garden itself all my birding is done around the grounds and various footpaths, the earlier you are there the better. The car park is worth a walk round for migrants and Bullfinch are regular in the hedge north. Early on you might find Kingfisher on the lake the path that runs directly behind the lake is good and can hold Marsh tit and LS Wood especially to the west. the fields are good for yellowhammer and the nightingale sings from a small clump of trees along the stream, I hope you find something and enjoy the walk.
